Minus one star because the grab and go deli selection is dismal, and this store has a strange layout compared to others (food on each side of the store with toiletries and cleaning supplies sandwiched in between). Minus two stars for the more serious offense, which was an interaction I saw between a cashier and bagging clerk. First, let me say I applaud Publix for hiring individuals with all abilities. My bagging clerk was an extraordinarily kind and sweet young lady who took a bit of extra time bagging the groceries for people, which is obviously more than okay. What was NOT okay was the cashier's attitude. She was rolling her eyes and sighing with exasperation as the bagger was finishing up the order in front of me. There's a tremendous lot I could say on this topic, but I'll stick with the following: *To the cashier: Golden Rule. Treat others how you want to be treated. Have some compassion and understanding for explicative's sake. *Managers: ensure that your employees are treating each other with respect and that your workplace is abundant with inclusiveness and understanding. The customer service experience is not only about how you interact with the customer; it's also about how you interact with your fellow employees. Respect the people working beside you. That goes double for when they have certain limitations that prevent them from doing the work as quickly as someone living without a disability. This world (and at least one cashier) needs a lot more patience, understanding, and kindness.
